About Me
I am a researcher who believes that understanding the human mind is the key to effective teaching. I use a combination of behavioral, computational, and neuroimaging methods to improve our understanding of the mind in ways that are relevant for teachng and learning. In addition, I work to bring cognitive science (research and theories) and education (policy and practice) closer together. When I teach, my focus is on student understanding of the deep structure of the content. I have taught courses in cognitve psychology, educational psychology, and statistics/research methods. I particularly enjoy teaching methods courses because understanding how to think empirically and draw conclusions from data are skills students can use for their whole lives. I am currently a postdoc in the BrainsCAN program at Western University in Ontario, Canada.
